The Most Crucial FIRST STEP
Before we start with the Career Planning Master Class, I want to challenge you about the most crucial first step. It is the foundation for a successful career. This foundation is critical, and I want to ensure it is in place before we start!
I will be very bold to make sure everybody understands the importance of this foundation. Without this foundation, there will be no career. If you are unwilling to build that foundation, you will not maximize your potential and should not continue because there will be no outcome!
This sounds harsh, but I need to stress this as I saw so many people with potential who are unwilling to take the most critical first step to acknowledge and understand the following principle.
YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR CAREER!
You are accountable for your career and nobody else!
Let me repeat it again to make sure you got it!
You are accountable for your career and nobody else!
Not your boss, not top management, not your parents, not your partner, and not any friend – only YOU! No excuses, and do not point fingers at others. If you want to use your finger, point to yourself. Accept the truth because now you can use it to your advantage.
It is not complicated but very significant! Look for the next mirror, look into it, and tell yourself it is me, and I take responsibility!
Here comes the good news: if you are accountable, you can take control, influence, and optimize your status quo. In this Career Planning Master Class, you will learn how to do so, and if you need additional help, I am always available to coach.
There’s so much more to a career than being qualified, skilled, and waiting for a promotion. Developing your career is a journey that takes a lot of willingness, planning, execution, and stamina, as results are not always as planned. The good news is that you’re not alone, and career development isn’t a secret. Different solutions can guide you and show you how to develop yourself so you can move forward on your career path. Don’t get me wrong, it is an investment in time, effort, and money, and it will not happen in a week or two.
Are you still with me?
That’s great. Stop looking at others and start making your own decisions. Take actions to define your future. This course is all you need as the first step to creating your personalized career plan.
There’s no denying that education and skills are essential. Don’t get me wrong, they are! Many young adults and their parents look forward to a college degree, so it is important they take out student loans and pay them back for years.
But why is this so important?
Is it the skill we learn?
The title we own after we paid for it?
Or the experience we make?
I think most of us strive for a well-paid job. Everyone wants to be respected and valued. A job where you make enough money to live well and can fulfill dreams for your family and yourself.
This brings me back to the start of this topic, so let’s set the most critical foundation together.
Are you ready?
Follow my lead and repeat what I said.
I am responsible for my career and nobody else.
I will take the effort needed and invest the energy and resources to get the best out of me. I will develop my career plan and follow up on the milestones and tasks to ensure I achieve the planned results. I will excel in my career.
Congrats – excellent job done. By the way, it does not hurt to repeat this from time to time to motivate and power yourself!
